Wow, I either have been really busy or I just didn't feel like posting or I felt I didn't have anything important to say. Hmmm...I think it's a bit of the last two combined.
An update on my health –- I am really healthy...except for my MS symptoms. My legs have been especially wonky with increasing numbness, spasticity, and (new for me!) pain...all other symptoms have been stable since I last blogged. I've been taking gabapentin just before bed to help with spasms/pain, but that's it as far as medications go. I refuse to take the stuff any other time as it makes me feel really spacy and I hate that feeling.
My current focus: I continue to have regular massage (every 2 weeks) and acupuncture (every 4 weeks) sessions. Massage focuses on my legs and acupuncture focuses on the blood flow, specifically in my legs, as I struggle with cold feet.
I'm implementing a protocol proposed by an Australian naturopath (who has MS) Fiona Chin. It's called You Can Beat MS and can be purchased online for $100. Now, I normally wouldn't go out and buy anything like this, but it is a very thorough, complete, detailed plan that makes so much sense to me and has me feeling very hopeful! I'm going to write a separate blog about this program. But do a google search...it's a good program.
I'm also going to look into a chiropractic therapy called atlas orthogonal. It was featured on Montel Williams as another possible treatment for MS symptoms. I found a chiropactor in Aldergrove that does it, but haven't contacted him yet.
And finally, I'm focusing on the spiritual aspect of me. On the suggestion of a friend, I have purchased a number of books that she felt would be helpful on my journey to enlightenment...OK, that sounds a little hokey LOL but it's pretty true. I'll write more about that too. So that's where I'm at. Stay tuned for a more in depth look at what I'm doing.
And in the meantime...remember to be grateful for the little things in life.
